How to Use the Stretch-assager

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING: We recommend that you push very gently at first and increase your force slightly in successive exercises over the first week. The following instructions serve as a general guideline. You may wish to vary the force, duration and frequency of use to find what is most effective for your particular situation. If symptoms arise while sleeping, you may wish to do an exercise before bedtime. If you feel tension at the wrist, hold the exerciser further from your body when using. If you feel any discomfort during the exercise, reduce your force or quit using for a few days. Each exercise should consist of one compression. Allow several hours between exercises for the first few days of use. In advanced cases, there may be a delayed effect and the benefits may not be noticable for several days after using.

Position hand(s) so palm is over the wedge-shaped cutout as shown. Larger hands may be placed closer to the bottom of the exerciser as in Figure A. Smaller hands, closer to the middle as in Figure B.

Opposing Force (two hands): Hold exerciser close to your chest (as shown), finding your most comfortable position. Push the bases (heels) of your palms together gradually while keeping the rest of your hand relaxed (take about 5 seconds so the muscles, tendons and ligaments have a chance to adjust). Do not use quick, jerky movements. Hold compressed for a few seconds and release slowly. If you can, rest your hands for as long as possible. Repeat whenever you feel symptoms or a few times a day as a preventative measure.

For use with One Hand: Put exerciser on a flat surface as shown. Push the base (heel) of your palm down gradually while keeping the rest of your hand relaxed (take about 5 seconds so the muscles, tendons and ligaments have a chance to adjust). Do not use quick, jerky movements. Hold compressed for a few seconds and release slowly. If you can, rest your hands for as long as possible. Repeat whenever you feel symptoms or before an activity known to produce symptoms.
